簡介：
人文主義地理學上昇中的大師級人物，Professor Tim Cresswell即將要到東華來演講。他主要研究興趣在以地理學的思考來理解社會與文化生活的構成，以及不同的思考模式如何影響實踐，這包括從井然有序及宰制，到失序及抵抗，此為Professor Tim Cresswell所認為的「批判地理學」。地方、移動性與抵抗，使得地理學成為在我們所居住的當代社會中，兼具動態與批判操演的學門。

他最常被引用的書為In Place/ Out of Place(1996)；Place: A Short Introduction (2004)；以及On the Move: Mobility in the Modern Western World(2006)。共同編輯的書主要有Mobilizing Place, Placing Mobility(2003), Gendered Mobilities(2008)。其中Place: A Short Introduction一書經由王志弘的翻譯，引進不少思考地方與空間的概念，也讓他在台灣享有一定的知名度。請參考以下連結
